my/Berlin - with Vesna

Watch out it’s getting personal now!
We have prepared a little my/Berlin special for you. Within the next three weeks we will present exclusive insights into our very own Berlin love story. Why are we here? Where do we like to shop? What are our favorite restaurants? etc. Let’s go!

We’re starting with our favorite croatian girl: Vesna. Actually Vesna has studied something very different and has worked as a pretty successful architect before. At of/Berlin she is responsible for online development and everything concerning the website. We’re still really impressed by how quickly she has learned to manage all of that web stuff. Go Vesna, go!

1. When and why did you come to Berlin?

I came to Berlin in 2013. Before that I have studied and worked in Stuggi and it was definitely time to do something new. Berlin was the right spot for me as my sister and her family lived here already. Plus I kind of fell in love with the city and the people who live here.

2. How do you think Berlin is going to change within the next 10 years?

Interesting question. As an architect and city planner I really hope that Berlin takes the Scandinavian countries as an example and tries to establish architecture which is bold and brave despite the current construction boom that is going on. Not all buildings have to look the same and embody efficiency. Nevertheless, I’m convinced that we cannot stop the transformation that is happening right now. Berlin will become a more expensive city and therefore change. For me this is an unstoppable process which also offers a lot of opportunities and is part of being a „city“.

3. Your favorite Berlin designer/shop?

Gestalten Space

4. Where do you take your friends & family when they visit?

Not easy. But I go for Kantine Kohlmann. Amazing cocktail bar in Kreuzberg. Easy atmosphere, nice interior and when you get hungry you can order the best German tapas in town.

Kantine Kohlmann
Skalitzer Str. 64, 10997 Berlin

5. Let's talk about food! What's your all-time favorite restaurant or street food place?

Ban Ban Kitchen, Hermannstrasse in Neukölln (They’re currently located at Schillerpromenade though). Best Bibimbab, nice people and amazing atmosphere in summer - Berlin at its best!

Ban Ban Kitchen
Schillerpromenade 32, 12049 Berlin

Thank you Vesna <3
